How to keep excited about the mountains from the comfort of your home during a pandemic

Staying Fizzed On The Mountains From Home:

We can’t go too far into the hills right now but that doesn’t mean we have to stop frothing them.

1) Close the curtains and get cozy. The world of adventure film stretches far. With so many films to sort through, I’d suggest starting with the ones you’ve already watched that spring front of mind. You know… the ones that give you the warm fuzzies and stir up all those stoked emotions in ya!

Some of my favourites include: Zarbardust, Drawn From Here, Ascent To Powder (for all the Fernie frothers)

2) Planning. There’s no reason you can’t pull out some old maps and plan your next mission..Whether it be ski touring or hiking.. whatever the season, I find it fun to sit down with a cup of coffee or a cider depending on the mood and draw over maps the routes I will take on my next adventure. After all, planning is half the fun!

3) Painting them! If you are like me and lucky to have views of them from your window, grab any art tools you have and recreate them. Pencils, pens, paint - whatever you can get your hands on. You don’t have to be good at something for it to be good for you!

There are so many ways of keeping your dreams alive and these are just a few.

How are you staying fizzed on the mountains at the moment? Any mountain/adventure podcasts you are listening to? Mountain/adventure coffee table books you’ve managed to get your hands on?
