Why do I paint?

My Why:

This morning while at the gym, I listened to two podcasts.

One of these raised a few good thoughts for me. The speaker said to ask yourself this - “how are you helping others?” ⠀

It really got me thinking about my work and my “whys” and the concept that is often addressed in start ups - that being, to ultimately succeed you must be solving a problem.. ⠀

I struggled to answer this immediately…how are my little party shredder paintings helping others or solving some kind of problem? ⠀

Then I got to thinking .... It’s not just that I help people fill empty space on their walls but that each piece taken home by its new owner triggers many fond memories with their loved ones up the hill and helps them reflect a little piece of their personality.. after all, we all choose art and belongings in our immediate environment that echo our sentiment. ⠀

I hope also, that even if you do not have one of my party shredder pieces hanging on your walls at home, that you get equal amounts of joy from seeing the many bright coloured skiing friends pop up occasionally on your instagram feed - because the world is a better place when it is colourful! 🎨🌼🌈🍉🥑🍭🎉🎈💕⠀
