What Question Do Most Artists Get Asked Time & Time Again:

The most common question I get asked is “how long does it take you to do one of your paintings?”. So I thought I’d share just how much is involved from start to finish.

Firstly, I don’t often get the chance to sit down in one sitting to work solidly on my paintings as I work a full time job throughout the week so it’s often hard to give an exact timeframe when people ask this.

What I do know though is it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks to get a painting to its new owner!

From gathering materials like the required canvas size and paints, planning the overall layout, gessoing the canvas, hand drawing all the skiers, painting the base layer before adding all the colours, skis and poles to varnishing and adding hanging materials to the backs and packaging/ boxing them all up (don’t get me started on boxing - bane of my life!).

Where I’m going with this is that there is a lot more than meets the eye to this painting gig but the end result is always worth it and I’ve had so many happy customers which I’m absolutely stoked about!
